This session will provide practical lessons from very experienced managers/leaders sharing what they have learned the hard way about leading emergency management staff more effectively. For experienced managers, these lessons can serve as reminders and continuous learning on leading and managing people. For entry to mid-level staff, this session will help prepare you for when an opportunity to lead or manage presents itself to you. The session will explore ideas for effectively leading and managing staff and teams during 'blue sky' days, as well as during crisis/disaster situations. Our intent is to leave ample time at the end of the workshop for questions from the audience, as well as for the audience to share from their experience.
