Monique Lewis is a subject matter expert with 20 years of experience in the fields of emergency management and critical incident response. Monique holds a master's degree in emergency management and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Ms. Lewis' emergency management experience includes serving as Deputy IC for Sprint Nextel's response to Hurricane Katrina, implementing field level ICS response for a newly merged ESF-2 provider in an environment where NIMS was still a very new concept. Ms. Lewis holds the highest Military Emergency Management (MEMS) Master credential and serves as a Battalion Commander in the Alaska State Defense Force, which provides emergency management expertise and staff augmentation to the Alaska National Guard and State Emergency Operations Center. Most recently, Ms. Lewis served as task force XO for the response to Typhoon Halong, assisting with the integration of critical military operations into a large incident complex.
