Nouran Ridling is a crisis preparedness and coordination specialist with more than fifteen years of experience supporting United Nations operations and government counterparts across the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean. Her experience includes crisis-cell activation and management in Mali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, support to Haiti’s Joint Operations Center, service with UNMHA in Yemen during the Red Sea crisis, and crisis coordination and reporting at the United Nations Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC) in New York for global emergencies including Ebola, Yemen, and Syria.

Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening institutional crisis coordination, decision-support, and operational preparedness in complex environments. Her current work centers on municipal and national-level capacity building in the MENA region. Most recently, she led a pilot initiative on AI-assisted municipal readiness in Lebanon, integrating human situational awareness with lightweight analytical tools to support daily monitoring, signal interpretation, and structured crisis workflows—an emerging approach she continues to advance with public authorities and resilience partners.
