Mrs. Alazandria Cruze serves as Emergency Management Planner for the Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management for the last eight years. In her current role, she oversees the Whole Community team including the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Coordinator, Public Private Partnership Coordinator, Municipal and Higher Education Planner, and the Incident Management Coordinator. Additionally, Mrs. Cruze oversees the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), Continuity of Operations (COOP) program and the Continuity of Government (COG) plan. Mrs. Cruze serves as the Operations Section Chief Bravo during Countywide EOC activations.
Mrs. Cruze has over 15 years of Emergency Preparedness experience at both the County and State level. Prior to joining he Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management, Mrs. Cruze was the Cities Readiness Initiative Coordinator for the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County and served as the Emergency Support Function 8 (Health and Medical) representative at the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Mrs. Cruze has assisted in leading the Miami-Dade emergency planning efforts for FIFA World Cup 2026, including coordinating the mass care, safety and security, and critical infrastructure working groups, supporting the coordination of a Regional Multi-Agency Coordination Group, and assisting with exercise planning and management. Mrs. Cruze has worked various special events (Super Bowl 2020, Formula 1, Club World Cup, etc.) and natural incidents (Hurricanes, COVID-19, Surfside Building Collapse, extreme weather events).
Professionally, Mrs. Cruze is a Certified Emergency Manager through the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association (FEPA) and is a Certified Public Health (CPH) Professional through the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Mrs. Cruze holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, and a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Science.
