Jeff Jumper, CEM, serves as Deputy Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), where he has worked since 2015, when he became the agency's first State Meteorologist. Throughout his tenure, Jeff has strengthened preparedness for weather hazards through forecasting, partnerships, outreach, and training, supporting emergency managers and communities across the Commonwealth.Prior to joining PEMA, Jeff spent a decade as a broadcast meteorologist with television stations in Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Louisiana. He holds the National Weather Association Television Seal of Approval and the American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation.Jeff is a graduate of the National Emergency Management Basic, Advanced, and Executive Academies and has earned PEMA's Professional and Associate Practitioner certifications. He holds a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Millersville University (2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University (2006).
