Christa Hyson is the Director of Emergency Preparedness for Hamilton County Public Health in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Public Health Advisor for the Department of Health and Human Services under the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response. She prepares the county for emergency situations and serves as a deployable asset as an Incident Management Team member to respond to all hazard events. Christa has served in Emergency Support Function (#8/ #15) lead roles for over a decade and was a key leader in Greater Cincinnati's COVID-19 response with over 400 media appearances in 2020-21.Prior to her current roles, Christa served as the Assistant Director for Emergency Response and Public Information Officer and managed the Hospital Preparedness Program for SW Ohio. Christa has also worked for the Cincinnati Health Department, El Paso County Public Health, and The U.S. Army Continuing Education System. Christa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Xavier University, and a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Florida.
