Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency
Spencer Hawkins has spent over 25 years as a professional emergency manager. In December 2015, he was appointed as the Director of the Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency. During his career, he has been involved in over 30 disaster activations, with 13 of those being hurricanes or tropical storms. Before coming to Macon-Bibb, he was Vice President of Crisis Management for PNC Bank. He spent four and half years working in Washington, DC as a contractor for the Army and Navy and, prior to that, spent 10 years working in central Florida for Orange County Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health Emergency Operations, and City of Orlando Emergency Management. He holds a master's degree in criminal justice and a bachelor's degree in public administration. Mr. Hawkins is a Certified Emergency Manager with the International Association of Emergency Managers and a Professional Emergency Manager the State of Georgia, a graduate of the FEMA National Emergency Management Executive Academy and the FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner Program. Finally, he is proud to be an Eagle Scout with Scouting America.
