Dr. Kurt Caminske, is Managing Consultant at AC Disaster Consulting, leading complex disaster recovery projects. He currently serves assisting with Tropical Storm Helene recovery, overseeing Public Assistance and client/stakeholder coordination. He began as an NYPD officer and retired as Captain from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, commanding 600 personnel across a large campus facility. There, he developed all-hazards emergency response and business continuity plans, implemented COVID mitigation achieving one of the lowest infection rates in U.S. law enforcement, and enhanced security through intelligence briefings, threat assessments, and proactive measures. Kurt also served as Adjunct Professor at SUNY Farmingdale, teaching Law Enforcement Crime Analysis & Mapping with ArcGIS. He holds a Doctorate in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security, M.S. in Homeland Security Management, FEMA/ICS certifications, and executive leadership credentials from the Naval Postgraduate School and Harvard Kennedy School. His expertise spans crisis response, risk mitigation, interagency collaboration, and building community resilience.
