Daniel King, CEM

Daniel King serves as the Deputy Director of Emergency Services and Emergency Manager for Greene County, New York. He is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) with a Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management and more than 21 years of experience in the field. Prior to his emergency management career, Daniel served 22 years as a paramedic and spent 10 years teaching Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses, helping develop frontline responders.Daniel has served as Greene County's full-time Emergency Manager since 2013, leading operations during several major incidents. His work has focused on coordinating multi-agency response, recovery, and community preparedness initiatives.He presented at the New York State Emergency Management Association Conference in 2023 and regularly delivers preparedness and resilience presentations to community groups.Outside of his professional role, Daniel operates a family farm supplying produce to customers in Brooklyn. This experience sparked his interest in behavioral science and consumer decision-making, which he now applies to strengthen emergency preparedness outreach and public engagement.
