Jeremy Swartz, CEM, PEM is an Adjunct Faculty member in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Loyola University Chicago, where he teaches graduate courses in emergency management with a focus on disaster operations and management and vulnerable populations. He brings nearly two decades of emergency management experience, along with almost 20 years of service in the emergency medical services, law enforcement and firefighting.
Jeremy earned a Master of Arts in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) through the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and a Professional Emergency Manager (PEM) certified by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
His expertise includes emergency planning, preparedness, disaster response and recovery operations, logistics operations and management, training and exercises, and building resilient communities. Jeremy is passionate about preparing the next generation of emergency management professionals through practical, evidence-based instruction and real-world application and continues to serve in mentoring roles to aspiring emergency managers.
