Maggie Steenburg currently serves as the Assistant Director for Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management, where she is responsible for overseeing the Mitigation, Recovery, and Resilience Directorate. In addition to her job with Miami-Dade County, Ms. Steenburg is also an adjunct professor of Emergency Management at Florida International University in Miami. Previously, she served in senior leadership positions for several disaster consulting firms where she provided policy guidance, project management, EOC staff augmentation, and response and recovery support for clients and partners. She has responded to natural and man-made disasters throughout the Country, as well as Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, and managed hundreds of millions of dollars in state grant funds and federal reimbursements. She spent 9 years working for former President Bill Clinton, including 3 years as his Director of Scheduling, and held multiple local emergency management positions in South Florida. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, New York University, and the FEMA Emergency Management Academy.
