Krista Houk has 21 years of emergency management experience, beginning her career as Director of the Madison County (OH) Emergency Management Agency. During her 8 years in this role, Ms. Houk initiated the Madison Crisis Response Team, deploying to Mississippi post- Katrina to support family assistance at resource centers for hurricane survivors. Ms. Houk then served as Emergency Services Manager for the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF), coordinating emergency logistics, implementing strategic planning, and serving as EOC Manager. Ms. Houk joined IEM in 2014 and is Manager of the State and Local Preparedness Division. She has led complex projects such as recovery planning for San Diego County and Los Angeles County, Central Ohio fatality management planning, complex coordinated terrorist attack planning for Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington and Knox County (TN), Los Angeles International Airport Continuity of Operations, supply chain planning for El Paso/Paso del Norte and San Antonio, and various access and functional needs planning projects. Ms. Houk supported family assistance planning and workshop delivery for Knox County and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
