Deputy Fire Chief Tim Sell has 19 years of experience with the Pasadena Fire Department. He is currently the Fire Marshal overseeing Fire Prevention, Community Risk Reduction, Training and Special Events. Prior to promoting to Deputy Chief, he was the EMS Battalion Chief responsible for the city's response during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He has served as the Unified Commander for five Rose Bowl Parades and is heavily involved in regional preparedness for large-scale events. He has served on Executive Steering Committees focusing on planning and operational readiness for the FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA World Cup, and LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. His leadership supports regional large-event preparedness through medical surge planning, interagency coordination, and operational integration across public safety, public health, and emergency management partners. Chief Sell is a 2024 graduate of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Fire Service Executive Development Institute (FSEDI) and has a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership.
