Emergency Management Coordinator I

Eunique Day is a public policy professional specialized in emergency management and disaster response/recovery. She has led preparedness, planning, training, response, recovery, and business continuity efforts for the agency personnel, and community members at large. Currently Eunique is an Emergency Management Coordinator with the City of Los Angeles, Emergency Management Department (EMD) in the Operations and Training Division.
In this role, Eunique serves as the Major Special Events lead, coordinating consequence management and continuity of government for the mega events in the greater Los Angeles between 2025-2028 including, but not limited to FIFA Club World Cup, NBA All-Star Weekend, Los Angeles Marathon, US Women's Open, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXI, and 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Eunique’s coordination for these mega events has been advancing the profession of emergency management via the launching of EMD’s Major Special Events Task Force. The task force convenes local and state agency partners with host cities across the nation as well as the mega event hosts and/or promoters for monthly meetings and public safety briefings. The task force has become an integral communication vehicle for information sharing and situational awareness across official host cities, as well as ancillary agencies and organizations impacted by these mega events.
